GeoData ConenctCheck ™ Product Information

Version 1.0.2 Now available

GeoData ConnectCheck is an off-the-shelf software product for validating logical connectivity of geometric networks for ArcGIS™ personal and enterprise geodatabases. GeoData ConnectCheck allows the user to generate logical connectivity tests based on geometric network connectivity rules, as well as create user defined connectivity tests.

Subtype Level Business Rules
A geometric network for an electric utility may require that an overhead device only be connected to an overhead conductor, or that a service meter may only be connected to a service lateral. A water utility may require that all types of fire hydrants must be connected to fire hydrant laterals.

Attribute Level Business Rules
Most enterprises have business rules that extend beyond the subtype level, for instance a water utility may define a logical connection between a valve and a pipe where the pipe size and the valve size must be the same; therefore a 4" valve can only connect to a 4" main. A gas utility may define a logical connection between a steel pipe and a plastic pipe may only occur at a specific type of transition fitting. An electric utility may define a logical connection between an A phase conductor and a B phase conductor may only occur at devices with a status of open, meaning that current cannot flow across those conductors.

GeoData ConnectCheck abstracts the geometric network connectivity into three distinct test types, edge to edge, junction to edge and edge to edge with junction filters. ConnectCheck allows for automatic test generation of Subtype Level Business Rules, by extracting each rule from the geometric network and creating the appropriate tests. Additionally, GeoData ConnectCheck allows the user to create tests based on Attribute Level Business Rules.
